Deborah Jackson is a Senior Educational Consultant for Teaching Matters with an expertise in middle school mathematics.  In this position, she supports educators in deepening content knowledge and pedagogy for math instruction, increasing the quality and effectiveness of lessons presented to students.  She also supports teachers and leaders in using data to drive instructional decisions in the short and long term. Deborah has extensive experience with writing 5 – 8 Common Core aligned math curriculum and uses observation and feedback to develop teacher practice both in planning and in execution.  Prior to joining Teaching Matters, Deborah was a teacher, curriculum specialist and school administrator at two high performing middle schools in New York City. She then went on to be a school administrator at a high performing middle school in Newark, NJ. Deborah holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Teaching in Adolescent Mathematics from Pace University and a Master of Instructional School Leadership from RELAY Graduate School of Education.
