Jennie Toby has worked in education for 14 years. She started as a New York City Teaching Fellow in the Bronx and spent 7 years in the classroom. Jennie served as a Teacher Leader as well as a Mentor Teacher for Math for America Fellows. In 2012 she joined Turnaround for Children as an Instructional Coach. In that role she led professional development, coached teachers in all subjects from grades 6-12, and piloted a program for Teacher Leaders to lead and sustain school wide improvement efforts. Jennie went on to become a Program Director at Turnaround where she led a team of Educational Consultants and supported school leaders as they launched and scaled program components designed to transform their schools. In addition to her role with Teaching Matters, Jennie is a Portfolio Coach with Johns Hopkins University Graduate School of Education, guiding students as they complete their culminating portfolios to obtain their Master’s degrees. Additionally, she is a Blended Learning Consultant & Designer currently building a rigorous tech based curriculum for Lindsay Unified School District in California. Jennie holds a BA in International Relations from Florida State University and an MS in Childhood Education from Fordham University.
