Dr. Katherine Cunningham

Senior Educational Consultant

Dr. Kate Cunningham comes to Teaching Matters with over 10 years in the field of education, working in both charter and traditional district schools in both New York and Connecticut. She has served as an elementary school teacher and principal, leading students to achieve significant academic gains in all subjects. She has also worked as a district administrator, supporting effective early intervention practices across elementary schools. Kate's areas of expertise include elementary literacy, inclusive education, data-driven instruction, leadership development, and organizational change. She also has a deep love for children's and adolescent literature. As an Early Reading Matters consultant, she is particularly excited to be supporting teachers and leaders as they help children develop a strong foundation in literacy. Kate earned a B.A. in History from the College of William and Mary, her M.A. in Teaching from the Relay Graduate School of Education, and recently graduated with her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
