Margaret Overbagh-Feld came to Teaching Matters three years ago with ten years of classroom experience in various capacities. She began her career teaching English as a Foreign Language and running teacher trainings as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the former Soviet Republic of Ukraine. She then pursued her M.A. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages at New York University. In New York City, she has taught at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, with extensive experience in collaborative team teaching. A member of the ninth cohort of the Bilingual/ESL Teacher Leadership Academy at Bank Street College, her focus has been on building English as a Second Language teaching capacity within schools and integrating ESL into everyday curricula. She earned her B.A. in English and Public Policy from The College of William and Mary.
