LaMonica Williams is the Vice President of Program and Services for Teaching Matters. In this role she manages and oversees the development and implementation of all Teaching Matters programs and services as well as the development of our consultants. Prior to this, she was the Director of Programs for Early Reading. In this role she managed and supported the development and implementation of Early Reading programs. She has also held the position of Field Director and Senior Educational Consultant. In this position, she supported educators in strengthening the skills of their earliest readers; and assisted teachers and leaders to strategically use data to target instruction and advance students’ reading and writing abilities. LaMonica also has extensive experience writing K – 5 Common Core aligned ELA curriculum and training teacher leaders to run highly effective classrooms and teams.

Prior to joining Teaching Matters, LaMonica was a teacher, instructional coach, and school administrator at a high performing elementary school in New York City. She then went on to be an instructional leader and founding member of a new school in the south Bronx where over 90 percent of students were reading on grade level by 2nd grade.  She has earned a dual Bachelors Degree in Communication and Spanish from Syracuse University and a Masters in Childhood Education from Hunter College (Relay/GSE, formerly Teacher U).
