Asia Johnson is an education leader with more than 10 years of experience in classroom instruction, instructional coaching, staff development, and program leadership. Throughout her career, Asia has worked alongside instructional staff and school leaders to strengthen teaching and learning and create meaningful academic experiences for students. Her areas of expertise include mathematics instruction, professional learning, instructional coaching, and supporting teachers in translating student needs into effective classroom practice.
Asia began her career in the classroom and has remained deeply connected to teaching and learning throughout her work as an education leader. She has coached and developed instructional staff, designed and facilitated professional learning, and partnered with school leaders to strengthen academic programming across multiple school communities. Her leadership experience has given her a strong understanding of how thoughtful instruction, strong adult learning, and responsive school partnerships work together to support student success.
Asia believes strong coaching begins with relationships, reflection, and a shared commitment to student learning. She works collaboratively with teachers to examine practice, identify meaningful next steps, and strengthen instruction in ways that are both practical and responsive to their students. Asia is especially passionate about mathematics and believes every student can be a successful mathematical thinker when they are given rigorous instruction, meaningful support, and opportunities to build confidence in their own thinking.
Asia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Childhood Education with a concentration in Mathematics from The College of Saint Rose and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership, Politics, and Advocacy from New York University.
