Bianca Martino is a Latina educator with 11 years of experience serving students in Washington Heights at a Title I school. I have taught middle school mathematics, including Algebra I, and served as a Math Intervention Teacher. As a teacher leader, I supported the math department through instructional coaching, mentorship of new teachers, and the implementation and growth monitoring of WIN (What I Need) blocks in both math and ELA, using student data to create targeted and impactful groupings.
My instructional practice is grounded in problem-based learning, including the use of Illustrative Mathematics, and I am deeply committed to creating learning environments where students feel seen, supported, and challenged. I believe strongly in the power of relationships and restorative practices to build trust, strengthen classroom communities, and support students both academically and personally.
