Edith Schneider is a Senior Educational Consultant for Teaching Matters with an expertise in science instruction. She supports teachers with developing engaging hands-on pedagogy, developing their content knowledge, and offering new ideas about the incorporation of the Next Generation Science Standards into the curricula. In addition, Edith supports educators by writing science curricula, unit planning, lesson modeling, supplying ideas for student engagement and achievement to preparing experiments. Her mission is to work hand in hand with teachers and teacher leaders to bring an inquiry-based approach to science learning, so that students enjoy learning about their natural world.
Edith Schneider is a former NYC public school science teacher with both middle and high school teaching experience in biology, chemistry and research. She has both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in biology and science education from CUNY at Brooklyn College.
