Elizabeth Key is a Senior Educational Consultant at Teaching Matters, specializing in elementary education. With 11 years of classroom experience, Elizabeth has worked with students from pre-kindergarten to third grade, bringing a wealth of expertise in the science of reading, data-driven instructional practices, and differentiation for diverse learners.
A dedicated lifelong learner, Elizabeth earned her Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Archaeology and Art History from Dickinson College. Her passion for education and working with children led her to join Teach for America in Chicago, where she spent six years teaching in underserved neighborhoods. After moving to New York to be closer to family, Elizabeth continued her teaching career in the Lower East Side of Manhattan for an additional five years.
Elizabeth is committed to fostering holistic student development and is particularly focused on empowering students to become independent learners while integrating social-emotional learning into her practices. Outside of work, Elizabeth enjoys exploring museums in the city, skiing and taking care of plants.
