Emilie Rivkin comes to Teaching Matters with a wealth of teaching and team leadership experience. She has spent the last eight years teaching general and special education elementary students at a New York City charter school, performing in the top 1% of New York State schools. Through teacher coaching, data analysis, and instructional management as a Grade Team Leader, she led her team of ICT and General Education classrooms to a complete pass rate across both the math and ELA state exams. She has also served on an educational justice council, whose goal was to ensure that all students across New York City had access to quality education. She has undergraduate and graduate degrees in English and American Literature from Emory University and New York University, and she received her graduate degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education from Touro College.
