Emily Davidowitz is a Senior Educational Consultant at Teaching Matters, with expertise in elementary literacy and data driven instruction for all learners. Prior to joining Teaching Matters, served as a teacher, administrator, and leader in seven different Title 1 schools across the Bronx, Harlem, Inwood, Brooklyn, and rural Maine. After teaching kindergarten and first grade, Emily transitioned from the classroom to administrative roles leading the assessment and special education departments in NYC charter schools, before being promoted to Assistant Principal. In all of the roles she has held, Emily has been most passionate about multiplying knowledge through coaching and mentoring adults and using data to inform professional development and classroom instruction.
Emily holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Public Policy from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and her Master of Education in Early Childhood General and Special Education from Teachers College at Columbia University.
