Jacqueline Stolzer comes to Teaching Matters with over a decade of experience in New York public and charter schools. Dually certified in English and Special Education, Jacqui began her career teaching in a wide range of classes, and she became committed to cultivating instructional practices that include all students in meaningful learning and collaboration. As a coach, she has partnered with middle school and high school teachers across the city to design and facilitate relevant and rigorous curriculum, with points of entry for all learners. She has also developed customized, school-based PD, as well as interactive, participant-centered workshops for teachers on topics such as team teaching, cultivating inclusive classrooms, and differentiation strategies. As a field consultant at City College, she works as a mentor to NYC Teaching Fellows seeking certification in Special Education, TESOL, and Bilingual Education.
Jacqui holds a BA in English from Barnard College and an MS in Special Education from Long Island University. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in English Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, where she also teaches graduate courses in the English Education Masters program.
