Juan Gonzalez is a mathematics educator, instructional leader, and consultant with over 10 years of experience advancing mathematics teaching and learning across classrooms, schools, and educational organizations. As a Math Senior Education Consultant at Teaching Matters, Juan partners with educators to strengthen mathematics instruction, implement high-quality curricula, design meaningful professional learning, and use evidence from student learning and classroom practice to drive instructional improvement.

Throughout his career, Juan has worked across classroom teaching, mathematics leadership, instructional coaching, and professional learning. His approach combines a deep commitment to mathematics education with a research-informed, data-focused mindset. He believes effective instructional improvement begins with understanding what the evidence reveals about student thinking and learning, then working collaboratively with educators to translate that evidence into purposeful action.

Juan is passionate about developing educators’ capacity to make informed instructional decisions while maintaining their agency and expertise.
