Julia Martin

Julia Martin is an educator, facilitator and parent with over eighteen years of experience working with young children. She has taught in a wide variety of special education settings where she focused on providing  students with disabilities access to rigorous and joyful literacy experiences alongside targeted support. Ms. Martin’s  main areas of expertise are  inclusive education, early childhood and supporting children with behavioral challenges and language based learning disabilities. 

After graduating from Harvard University with a degree in the History of Science and a minor in child development, Julia joined Teach for America and taught for several years in Phoenix, Arizona.  Returning to the East Coast she received her Master’s in Early Childhood Special Education from the Bank Street School of Education and spent eight years teaching in the South Bronx. Julia is passionate about helping ALL children find success in school by empowering students, teachers and families in creative ways.  In her spare time she loves reading with her own young children, writing childrens’ books and sharing stories with other educators.
