Kathryn Wilcox is a Senior Educational Consultant for Teaching Matters with expertise in literacy and language acquisition in early and middle childhood. She has experience directing out-of-school-time programming as well as working as a classroom educator.
Kathryn has spent most of her career working in or in partnership with the Boston Public Schools. She has worked predominantly in full inclusion schools, where students with disabilities and students learning English as a new language learn alongside students in the general education setting. She was most recently a Literacy & Language Specialist at the Lee Academy Pilot School where she facilitated the school’s Inclusion Planning Team. Kathryn is passionate about noticing and naming student strengths and using that to drive literacy learning.
Kathryn participated in the Boston Teacher Residency program in the Boston Public Schools to earn her M.Ed. in Elementary Education and she holds an A.B. from Harvard College.
