Kevin Perez (he/him/él) is a Ph.D. candidate in Bilingual Education in the Department of Teaching and Learning at NYU Steinhardt and an Adjunct Lecturer at the City College of New York. His expertise includes dual language immersion, bilingual teacher education, and culturally sustaining pedagogies. His teaching and research emphasize the importance of teacher and student agency in creating more equitable and affirming multilingual learning environments.
Before his current role, Kevin taught as a Dual Language Immersion (DLI) classroom teacher in California. His experiences as a bilingual educator continue to inform his research on the intersections of language policy, identity, and educational equity.
Kevin holds two Bachelor’s degrees in Education Sciences and Korean Literature and Culture from the University of California, Irvine, and a Master’s degree in Dual Language and English Learner Education from San Diego State University. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Bilingual Education at New York University.
