Kristin Jefferson is a dedicated educational leader and consultant with a deep-seated passion for ensuring excellent outcomes for all students. She has specialized expertise in multilingual learner instruction and data-informed teaching practices and is uniquely skilled at turning complex data into actionable instructional strategies that directly impact student learning.

Kristin’s approach is grounded in extensive firsthand experience within New York City schools, having served as both a classroom teacher and an assistant principal for almost 20 years. Her practice is rooted in the core belief that empowering teachers through trust and collaboration is the essential lever for driving measurable and joyful student learning. 

As a fluent Spanish speaker, Kristin brings both linguistic ability and cultural competence to her work, designing supports that are truly responsive to diverse school communities and student needs. She is particularly adept at coaching teachers and leaders in creating inclusive, rigorous learning environments where multilingual learners can thrive.

In her role with Teaching Matters, she continues her mission to empower educators, transform classroom practice, and champion the joyful success of every student.
