
Sarah Kaufmann is a Senior Education Consultant for Teaching Matters, specializing in adolescent literacy, teacher and team development, leadership growth, and data-driven strategies to improve student outcomes. She has led national initiatives in literacy and math intervention services, overseeing teams of leadership coaches and data strategists, launching curricula, and developing teacher evaluation tools to drive measurable improvements. Her expertise spans curriculum design and implementation, data-driven inquiry, MTSS, and new teacher development, with a strong focus on ensuring equitable outcomes for all students.
Sarah began her education career in New York City as a middle school ELA and humanities teacher before founding a district middle school in East New York. As a school leader, she was passionate about leveraging coaching, social-emotional learning, and the arts to transform student outcomes. She is deeply committed to supporting early-career teachers and is especially proud that most of the educators who started at her school remain in classrooms today.
Sarah holds a B.A. in Literature and Creative Writing from Sarah Lawrence College, an M.S. in Adolescent Education from Pace University, and an M.Ed. in School Leadership from Baruch College.
