Sasha Guirindongo
Sasha Guirindongo is a Senior Educational Consultant at Teaching Matters. Her career as an educator was initially motivated by her own experience growing up in New York City and attending NYC public schools. She began serving students across NYC, from the South Bronx to East New York, Brooklyn, as a middle school English and Social Studies teacher. Throughout her career she has also been a 4th and 5th grade classroom teacher, K-5 Reading Specialist, ELA Content Specialist and Instructional Coach. As an instructional coach she learned the power of supporting teachers so they can evolve as educators, further develop their craft and better serve their students.
Sasha graduated from SUNY Stony Brook with B.A. in English Education and holds an M.A. in Literacy Education from NYU School of Steinhardt. She specializes in Culturally Responsive teaching, creating a positive Classroom Culture, and Curriculum Development. As a coach Sasha is focused on ways she can empower teachers so they can better support their students. Outside of school you can find Sasha deepening her yoga practice and meditating. She believes the key to finding balance at work and life is learning how to balance the mind, body, and spirit.
