During the classroom visits, we noticed teachers floating from group to group while students were engaged in their work. She asked the students, “In my language, this is how we say ‘mosquito.’ How do you say it in yours?” A student answered her in Spanish, and he leaned in closer, suddenly more interested in the lesson.
